ABOVE: Watch the moment grizzly bear became viral photographer
VANCOUVER – Remember the now famous photo of the ‘grizzly bear photographer‘, taken near Revelstoke last month?
Well, turns out there’s even more photos and a video showing what happened.
Photographer Heidi Henke and her friend and videographer Diane Ethier, were in the area on Oct. 27 looking for bears and other wildlife, when they saw the grizzly bear in the river.
When the grizzly was about halfway to the opening, photographer Jim Lawrence arrived and Henke pointed out the bear to him so he could set up his gear.

As the bear went across the river and then came back towards the bank, Lawrence set up his camera in the opening. “Diane just thought this was great so she grabbed the video camera,” says Henke, while she took hundreds of photos from the opposite side to Lawrence.
When the curious grizzly bear approached Lawrence’s equipment, Henke says they all backed away and were holding their breath.
“But it was unbelievable what he did,” says Henke. “The video really shows his curious and playful side.”
At the end of the video, as the grizzly bear disappears into the bush after sticking his tongue out at the trio, Henke says it seemed like he was just being a mischievous kid.
When Lawrence first posted his photo, some critics claimed the picture was photoshopped, but the video proves the situation was real and it happened.
“The event wouldn’t have happened if all three of us weren’t there,” says Henke.
