A six-year-old boy with a strong sense of justice called 911 on his own father, after he turned right on a red.
On May 28, Robbie Richardson called law enforcement in Quincy, Mass., to report that his father “went through a red light.”
Robbie’s father, Mike Richardson, told CBS Boston that they were on their way home from shopping when he turned right at a red light, alarming the boy.

“He tells me, ‘Hey dad, you just went through a red light.’ And I said, ‘No Robbie, you can go through that one as long as you stop and there’s nobody coming you can go.’ He says, ‘No you can’t. That light was red,'” said Richardson.
“So we get into the car wash and he says, ‘I’m going to call the police dad.'”
Once at home, Robbie picked up the phone to report his father.
“My daddy went past a red light. He has a black truck and he was in the brand-new car, my mummy’s car,” said Robbie.
The dispatcher, Mike Bowes, asked to speak to the father.

“Oh no,” Richardson said before apologizing for the confusion and sharing a laugh with the dispatcher.
The Quincy Police Department posted the full exchange online.
Richardson was let off without a charge and hopefully Robbie now knows that it’s OK to turn right on a red, as long as it’s safe.
