Police say a man in his 60s who died overnight may have accidentally stabbed himself.

The 63-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, was found without vital signs on a stairwell outside a home on Thomas Elgie Drive, near Eglinton Avenue and Laird Drive, shortly after midnight.

He was found bleeding and with a cut to his upper leg.

He was rushed to hospital, but soon succumbed to his injuries. Police said they believe the man had parked his car nearby, and was climbing the stairs to enter the building when he slipped and somehow cut his leg with a knife.

Police said foul play is not suspected, and they are not looking for any suspects.
