A Canadian who was found beaten to death on a beach in Mexico has been identified as 50-year-old Marty Gary Atwood, CTV News has learned.
Atwood was found early Wednesday, near the El Tule beach, located near the resort cities of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, local police told CTV News.
The state prosecutors' office said that the cause of death was severe head trauma and a skull fracture.
Police said that they do not know if Atwood was staying at one of the hotels along the beach. Officers do not currently have any suspects under arrest.
