Someone owes the dryer an apology.
A 3-year-old Great Dane suffering a painful stomachache was found carrying 43 and a half socks stuffed inside its bulging belly.
An astonishing X-ray taken of the pup back in February at a Portland animal hospital revealed “a large quantity of foreign material,” The Oregonian reported.
With no other way to get the material out, the pooch went under the knife and like a laundry bag the socks were pulled out one at a time.
A photo released by DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital, where the operation took place, shows a long spread of multi-colored socks on a table.
So unusual, the animal hospital submitted the dog’s X-ray to an annual vet magazine contest called, “They Ate WHAT?” and ended up winning a $500 third place prize late last month.
First place went to an exotic frog that ate 30 ornamental rocks in Texas, requiring surgery. Second place went to a Florida dog that swallowed a shish kabob skewer.
Somehow what they didn’t find in either of the dogs was a child’s homework.
