Well, nothing special to tell other than I sent my kids for the summer break to Israel a few hours ago. It their first time flying without me and I'm somewhat nervous.

Oh, it is okay, don't be nervous.
They have flew away without you and you can change nothing, so there is no sense to worry.

Nothing special happened to me too. I have just come back from a training, I usually run about 5-8 km in the mornings, and I am very relaxed now. It is an incredible feeling :)

Here in Canada we still speak English. US is a different story.

Asked my son (just finished 5th grade). Present Progressive, he says. In Canada we speak English which is more British, than American, but still not exactly British.

Are there any differences in British and American Speech? I used to learn only "clean British" in school, and there is no present progressive, there is Present Continuous!
In Present Continuous we trust :D

There are differences but if your "clean British" is good then you have nothing to worry about. Some British slung may be misunderstood here, but I dare to guess it was not part of your education anyway.

Most spelling rules are British over here (such as "centre", "colour", "neighbour" etc) so don't worry.

It's biased towards American spelling.

Very different! Also, Americans are often able to distinguish by your accent which state you're from. Unless you're a foreigner, of course.
